‘His Head Lies Heavy’ (release date 3rd March 2023) is Ben & Dom's debut album release. This collection of 11 songs showcases their lyrical, melodic and thoughtful approach to a cappella songwriting. The lyrics touch on themes of commonality and connection, exploring our relationship with nature, our lineage, love for each other and ourselves, and various forms of male expression. Building on the experience of their previous release 'Shoulder', this album features expansive vocal layers, a variety of percussion, and a 20 strong male voice choir (Chaps Choir), elevating their sound and bringing a broader dynamic range. From the driving drum and clatter of cutlery in ‘Savage’ to the lulling, meditative chimes which close ‘Leaf’, Ben & Dom have incorporated lots of new colour into this record.

All songs written by Ben & Dom with the exception of Children of Darkness (Mimi & Richard Fariña) and The Quiet Joys of Brotherhood (lyrics by Richard Fariña). The opening text of Through The Years is taken from the broadside ballad ‘If Men Would Love Each Other’.
